My Qualifications and Experience

Experience
I have worked full time as a therapist for twenty years, primarily seeing individuals. In addition to my private practice I have worked in schools, with looked after children, in residential care, and in local counselling centres.

Professional Qualifications
Accredited as a counsellor with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and the United Kingdom Register of Counsellors and Psychotherapists(UKRCP). Registered as a psychoanalytic psychotherapist with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP)and as a psychoanalyst with the College of Psychanalysts - UK. I am a member of The Site for Contemporary Psychoanalysis (The Site).

I offer clinical supervision to counsellors and psychotherapists, individually and in groups.

I have taught psychodynamic counselling at Reading University and was course leader of the postgraduate diploma in Psychodynamic Studies at Oxford University.

I have research interests in poetry and psychoanalysis, in humour in the consulting room, and in the processes of the 'talking cure'.
